Sarah Edmonds: Founder & Editor
“When I started the very first iteration of the For Page & Screen Blog, I had no idea what I was doing. Truthfully, blogging has always made me uncomfortable. I never felt like I was qualified to talk to people about the things I’m passionate about. In order to combat that, I started reaching out to some of my amazingly talented, creative, and inspiring friends. I realized I really wanted that blog to be a way for all of them—and, in the future, many others!—to share their stories and their expertise. It was in the midst of this evolution of what the blog would be that Sherri and I—we had both been working for a literary journal at the time—realized we wanted to start a journal of our own. Since For Page & Screen had already been established as a blog about storytelling, it felt like the perfect place to house a new magazine. From there, we reached out to our fellow editors, Maurice, Rachel, and Alisha who were kind enough to share our enthusiasm and who brought expertise on so many different modes of storytelling to the team.
Personally, I’m still amazed at the support of our team and everyone who has been with us as we launch For Page & Screen Magazine. I hope that in the future this magazine will grow to show how all forms of storytelling exist as their own unique art, how these different forms are both varied and similar in their endeavors, and how every person has the ability to create something beautiful and to share their story if they’re simply given the right tools to do so.”

Sherri Hall: Editor & Magazine Co-Founder
“I’ve always been very interested in the written word. I remember when I was a young child, and I was lugging huge, 500-plus page novels around at my daycare, where I often preferred to sit and read them in a corner, rather than play with the other children there. I vividly recall one of the daycare teachers asking me, ‘What do you have there, Sherri, a dictionary?’ with a laugh, and it was only after that encounter that I realized that maybe my obsession with books and reading wasn’t ‘normal.’ Nevertheless, my obsession with books only grew, my appetite for stories growing more veracious by the day, and that naturally led me to a place where I started creating my own stories, in journals, notebooks, on scraps of paper. My love of storytelling has only grown since, and I’ve become a lover of all forms of human expression and storytelling: art, film, television, in’addition to books and short stories.
Over the years, I’ve continually sought out great stories, and when Sarah and I talked about starting a new journal, where we would be able to publish stories that we loved, or that spoke to us, I knew that I couldn’t pass up such a chance. My hope for For Page & Screen Magazine is that it becomes an inclusive collective body where art in all forms can be shared by authors of all different backgrounds who wish to tell their stories in their own, unique way. “

Maurice Hargrave: Editor & Contributing Author
“When Sarah asked me to join the For Page & Screen team, I jumped at the opportunity. Not only will we have the chance to read and view art from countless people and walks of life, but we have also been given an outlet to share our own opinions and artistic thought. My true hopes for the magazine are to have people from every end of the spectrum, engaged in sharing their stories and unique worldview; as well as honing my own ability to think critically and write thoughtfully about art of both the page and screen. With the team we have I believe the future of For Page & Screen can be as bright as we want it to be.”
